Feminine Diapers for convenience?!

Question:
I recently heard from a girlfriend that does market research that after a survey in 2005 of women ages 19-44 they found that about 6% are using an adult diaper for *convenience* during long trips, at shows/sports watching to avoid long women's bathroom lines, flights, etc. This company is now referring to them as "feminine diapers" (like feminine napkins). These are healthy women with no incontinence problems - just convenience. Can you let me know if you have ever done this? Do they work well? I have thought about it - but not seriously until now.
Please respond especially if you have done this. Do they work well, feel dry, etc? I'm considering it. Also, since most of you will be "ewww" and so on, please leave that off, since I'd like to hear *why* they are used for convenience.

EEW. I just can't imagine wearing adult diapers unless I absolutely had to. I used to watch this British channel and they actually advertised adult diapers to wear at night so you wouldn't have to get out of bed if you had to to the bathroom. I would imagine that your skin could get really irritated, just like when a baby gets diaper rash, if you left a wet one on too long.
Sorry for the EEEW! I just had to say it!

Why only for women?

As a nurse, I would not use them. For the patients that I take care of that have no choice but to wear them, they are at a higher risk for skin problems (down there) not to mention keeping all of that bacteria against your skin can cause vaginal and urinary infections. For me I say "no thanks", I would wait in a line any day versus having an infection because I thought it might make things convenient.

I just don't think I could wee in a diaper, even though it sounds good in theory. I don't have incontinence problems but I seem to have a small bladder and I need to go to the toilet all the time - long journeys are a nightmare! And although the idea seems good..I just don't think I could do it, it just doesn't seem right somehow!

I can't see these neing too healthy for your skin.
