Any advice on how to stop wearing so much makeup? Please read below?!

Question:
I am fair-skinned woman of color, and about 7 years ago when I got a blemish I put on foundation to cover up, and ever since then I haven't been able to stop. I'm really tired of wearing it. Any advice? or alternatives?
Answers:
Just stop! That's the best way. Don't get a complex about it, everyone has a flaw. People who don't think they have any flaws actually have the biggest one of all: vanity.

Other Answers:
Maybe see a skin specialist for the blemish on your face first see what he or she recommends

you should try a tinted moisturiser, i use one and they give light coverage and feels as if you are not wearing any make-up

The blemish is probably much less noticable than what you think. Go a day without and see how people react to you.

There is this stuff call Obagi, its real good expensive but you can get it over the counter..give it a try

Go to the mall, to the make-up counter. Ask them to give you a make-under; to make you look your best with a minimal amount of makeup.

The three essentials I think are: mascara, blush, and gloss. If you break out then you'll need a tiny bit of concealer but I don't understand why anyone wears foundation. It always looks too makeupey. Just try switching to concealer, that should help.

Drink lots of water, that helps with the blemishes and makes your skin healthy looking.Maybe take some skin vitamin.Olay skin products are very good. When you have healthy looking skin your want for all the makeup will go away.

MAKE UP ADDICT!

If it bothers you that much just cover the one spot and blend well. The blemish must be gone by now. Try using a good cleanser with moisturizer with sun protection in it and embrace life. You are you and try to love yourself. You are special and worthy and your goodness does not depend on foundation. All the best

If you're still having skin problems like blemishes and acne, talk to a dermatologist. They can other treatments to help get your skin clear. There are over the counter products you can get to fade any marks left behind from older blemishes. Neutrogina makes a good one. You can also try Acne Free Scar repair kit. I've used both and they help make old and new blemishes fade and then i usually wear a tinted mosturizer for a little extra help in covering those marks.

I'll admit that I don't like to wear make-up to much. Although, the only time I will add foundation is when my face is really red. Other than that, I use loose powder, you might want to try it like that. I would know, my friends call me ghost. LOL

Have you tried Bare Minerals?? It is natural looking foundation, that is good for your skin. I wear foundation everyday. It helps because it has SPF. I am ver fair skinned.

get a good bronzer and do all of your make-up except for the foundation.

Given my skin and the fairness of it, I absolutely hate wearing any type of liquid make-up. Hate it with a passion.

I found that wearing the Bare Essentials dry makeup really works well and it has a bit more staying power. Covers up redness and blemishes really well.

To wean yourself off of make up, use less and less until you don't feel the need to use any at all. Then use a tinted moisturizer (not one that tans the skin - just tints it until you wash your face again).

Good luck!! :)
