Wrong kind of footwear? Plays sports? Injury in the past? Tendenitis? Many reasons.

the shoes you are wearing has a lot to do with food pain

where is the foot pain? top, bottom, heal, toes? Maybe a strained muscle, a planter's wart, a bone spur, torn tendon, wearing shoes that are hard on the feet such as those chucks? Tons of reasons.

You could have a vitamin or calcium deficiency that causes cramps in your foot. It could also be stress-related. I'd try a daily vitamin w/ calcium.

If your pain is constant, you may have a stress fracture from running or something that may not even show up on an X-RAY.

Did you see a podiatrist? They're the experts on feet, so find one who can help you out more than your physician.

What kind of foot pain? Ache? Burning? Sharp? Dull? Pins and Needles? Is the pain in one spot? The entire food? Constant? Comes and goes? Only when standing? Walking? Running? Did you have an injury? Is there a part that is painful to touch? Any redness? Swelling? Anything you do that makes it worse? Makes it better? These questions need to be answered to even begin to consider the causes of your pain.

What kind of doctor did you see? Have you been evaluated by a Podiatrist? A Chiropractor?

Best wishes and good luck!

As a teenager I played basketball. I came home nearly every night with foot pain so bad I would have to crawl around my house in order to move anywhere. For me it was because I had flat feet. While flat feet can result in leg and back pain in adult and can be particularly painful for children and teenagers. This is because teenagers still have growth plates in their feet which can become irritated and inflamed because of the improper bone alignment associated with flat feet. This is only one possibility but was solved for me by simply getting some custom orthotics made by a podiatrist.
