What's the difference between Wellbutrin XL and Wellbutrin SR?!

XL is the extended release formula (releases medication over a 24 hour period). SR is the sustained release formula (releases medication over a 12 hour period).
I believe there is a generic for SR, but not XL, so SR is cheaper.

nothing really just that XL goes to a certain does only i believe and SR goes as high as the doctor needs it to..Or maybe it's the other way around i don't really remember sorry was on it for awhile but off it now
