how does a pedometer actually know how many steps you take? does it only work fo!

Question:

Answers:
It depends on the quality of the pedometer that you get, but they way the cheap ones work is when you walk you bounce a little (believe it or not), so when you step down with the foot that has the pedometer on that hip it will react and cause the number to go up. This is also how people can cheat by taking the pedometer and shaking it and that will cause it to count. Better pedometers work by sensing your joint movement, but you have to very precise about placement. Cheap ones will overcompensate for running, while better ones should work fine.
