how many clories equal a pound?!

Question:
on the trendmill it say you loes whatever how many clories but how many clories equal a pound?
Answers:
whats a clorie?

Other Answers:
Depends on what those pounds are made of.
Look at it this way:

1 pound of muscle burns about 4 times as much as fat(depending on how you exercise, eat, and recover).

If you have alot of pounds, you burn alot of calories.
If you lose weight, you burn less calories.

Basically, you want to combine cardio with toning weight lifts this way you maintain a high metabolism by maintaining lean body weight. You can't just rely on a treadmill.

3600 calories for 1 pound

A calorie is a unit of energy and a pound is a unit of weight. Human fat is a form of stored energy but they are really very different things. You can approximate the amount of energy stored in human fat but there are too many variables to give an exact answer.

on average it is 500 calories = 1 pound. losing calories will also reduce weight in later hours. if u wanna lose weight, eat 500 less calories and lose about 200 calories on the tred mill. Increase these numbers as time goes by, say about 1 month. =)

I think its 3500 - or somewhere around there.

It takes 3,500 calories to equal one pound of body weight. Generally, dieters dump an average of 1,000 calories per day in an effort to lose 2 pounds of body fat per week.

A two-pound per week weight loss is awesome! To see how much two pounds weighs, lift the wart off your mother-in-law's chin.

As a note, you should never go below 1,200 calories per day without your doctor's approval. If you are in need of losing a lot of weight, you may require more calories, so you'll definitely need to check in with your doctor before proceeding on any diet plan.

3500 cal = 1 pound
7000 cal= 1 kg

1 gr of carbs = 4 cal
1 gr of protein = 4 cal
1 gr of fat = 9 cal

you take your basal caloric requirement (depends of age, height , and weight), this is your starting point. From that value (say 1500) you take the calories you burned at the gym (say 500), and let's say you ate 400 cal that day, your total for the day is -1400 cal, for seven days is 2.8 pounds!!
