I have to have an Achilles tendon put in my knee, but it's from a dead person. I!

Question:
I bust my ACL and LCL, previous grafts haven't worked, and apparently this has a better success rate.
Answers:
Believe it or not, even if the tendon was taken from somewhere in your body there is a possiblity of rejection. The human body has the weirdest immune system. It basically picks and chooses what it wants to keep or not. Being in the medically feild, you see alot of this. You will probably get some kind of immuno-supresent medications that will make your system less active and less likey to reject the donor tissue. But with that, you will have to be on your p's and q's to make sure you don't get a cold or anything else. Good luck with the surgery and happy recovering!!
