My daughter has very dry, very thick, very curly & frizzy hair..what will help h!

Question:
We have tried over the counter stuff and expensive salon stuff. Pantene, frizz ease, and everything else you can think of,,even saflower oil. Any ideas?
Answers:
uh, my hair is quite like that, currly, thick, and very DRY. What i've tried which has helped a bit is to put something like olive or coconut oil in my hair over night, and also not using a hair dryer. Cuz it drys out the hair quite alot i think. You can also find this type of thick coconut oil that you can just put in and leave in your hair, and it tames it and also gives the moisture back

when she washes her hair have her keep the conditioner on longer than normal and only rinse it half the way out. I do this all the time and works great for me, =)

This might sound a little crazy, but maybe you can try using some babyoil in her hair when wet. I might help.

good luck

her hair is dry hair type..so i suggest that she uses suave conditioner..it is not that expensive and it is very effective..or u use garnier..it is a shampoo that stops frizzy and dry hair

try getting a relaxer in her hair preferably from a proffesional hair salon it will make her her straight and smooth

There is a shampoo out there that is like it has a horse on the bottle it's white, blue, and orange. And you can buy it at Family dollar or Wal-mart.I am not sure of any other stores..But i would try that first if that doesn't work I would try going to a Hair store. Maybe Sally's and looking at some products in there

i have similar hair. i get a hot oil treatment once a month and after i wash my hair i use leave in conditioner. Ceramic flat irons are essential because they provide texture and shine to the hair without drying it out and ceramic utensils help keep the style longer.

I would use either of the below:
before she washes her hair
i would put coconut milk from a can on for about 30 minutes, it is extremely moisturizing and anti-frizz
you can also mix honey, coconut milk and olive oil and put that on before washing your hair
insted of a regular shampoo i would use washing oil. they usually have washing oils in natural cosmetics stores
the oil does not make your hair oily, it just does not over dry it
i would totally off of all the brand names expensive crap, which is chemical anyway
i would really try natural moisturizers as described above

i own a few books on natural cosmetics purchased on amazon, and have tried the above myself

for dryness - only shampoo her hair 2-3 times a week. if you use salon products they will rinse out of her hair without the aid of shampoo.
it's all about the cut. Graham Webb hair products are the best. if your salon doesn't have them find one that does. you wont be sorry. if you have the right haircut minimal styling is needed. never dry hair until it has air dryed at least halfway. a boars hair bristle brush is a MUST. it's not possible to tangle your hair in it and it's a must have styling tool if you blow dry. for damage - stop using store bought products. there IS a difference. never rub your hair with a towel when it is wet. it's one of the most damagingh things you can do.
