Everyone man has a prostate gland, were born with them. They play a role in producing certain secretions and stoping sperm from going into the bladder during ejaculation. The prostate grows as you get older in years and when you reach your 40+ and your testosterone levels drop the prostate gland seems to grow faster. Sometimes this can result in squeezing the urter and make it difficult to urinate. If you are having difficulty see your Dr and he can recommend some treatments for you. If it is enlarged do to a simple infection, then some antibiotics can help. If it is enlarged and not infected, the possibility of cancer should be investigated. Then if the enlargement is not due to cancer there are some surgical treatments availble. One is called TUR (Transurteral Resection). They cuts bits off the inside of the prostate to make it smaller to allow passage of urine. Check with your Dr. and see what he/she thinks. Good Luck!
