Try rubbing rum on the gum line.

call mr.T and let him punch you in the jaw.

go to the shop and get some cloves and suck on one near the bad tooth and it will numb the pain

put lots of hot sauce where it hurts

clove oil does the trick until yo u can go to the dds

goto dentist!

post about it on the Internet

Oil of cloves is good. Dentist is better.

i have found out that using whole cloves, and baby orgel works best.also a warm rag helped with the pain.

Luke warm water with TABLE SALT and gargle a couple times.

try a hot water bottle to ease the pain

Temporary relief could come from Anbesol or Orajel, but most likely you'll have to see a dentist, get an x-ray and go from there. Keep in mind that toothaches can lead to alot of other problems like sinus infections. Don't put off the dentist. The longer you wait, the more it could cost you. Hope you feel better.

have it pulled- but, if you mean how do you get temporary relief- orajel or similar OTC lidocaine, benzocaine compound, or put a teaspoon of ground cloves in about 2 ounces of vodka (cheap is fine) let it soak for a minimum of an hour and apply with a cotton swab to the hurting tooth.

Pain killer is best to rid the pain

orajel.? its great i lived on it until i had enough balls to go to the dentist

Take a couple of pain killers and the pain should go away because sometimes its just a twinge of pain that most people i think get and it should go by the time the drugs have worn off if its still there ring the dentist and get an appointment asap and dont eat anything that could make it worse such as sweets or fizzy drinks. Drink water and stick to soft foods.

if it is a cavity- home remedy- a clove inside the cavity may help immediately. meet dentist for a filling / root canal/ removal.

I agree with all previous answers that tell you to see a dentist right away. The dentist is the specialist in this area and he or she can treat the CAUSE of your dental pain.

If you cannot get an appointment right away, the following the procedures may help to relieve (NOT CURE) the toothache:

•Apply moist heat outside of the face (5 minutes on and 5 minutes off for 30 minutes and repeat every 4 hours)
•Rinse your mouth with warm salt water (hold for 1 minute then spit)
•Avoid sticky foods
•Chew on the other side of the mouth
•Massage the area between your thumb and the your finger for 5 minutes (acupressure)
•Take some pain relievers (see below)
•Take antibiotics such as amoxil 500mg three times a day for 1 week. If you are allergic to penicillin, then use clindamycin 300mg twice a day for 1 week)

The pathophysiology of dental pain is a complex central and peripheral nervous system process, and the use of combination analgesics that act at multiple pain sites can improve pain relief. The common pain medications used in my dental office are:

For the treatment of mild to moderate dental pain, the most appropriate options are:
•Acetaminophen (Tylenol), 650mg every 4-6 hour as needed for pain;
•Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Aleve), 400mg every 4-6 hours as needed for pain; and

For moderate to severe pain, the appropriate medications are:
•Tramadol (Ultram), 50mg every 4-6 hours as needed for pain.
•Tramadol with acetaminophen (Ultracet, containing 37.5 mg tramadol hydrochloride and 325 mg acetaminophen), one table every 4-6 hours as needed for pain.
•Acetaminophen (Tylenol#4, containing 60 mg Codeine Phosphate and 300 mg Acetaminophen), one table every 4-6 hours as needed for pain.

For severe pain, opioid combinations are advised. For example, one Vicodin ES (10 mg hydrocodone and 750 mg acetaminophen), can be taken every 4-6 hours as needed for pain.
