Ew! My nails are sooo stubby and i want them to grow but they just arent!?!

Question:
&& im not a nail bitter..HELP ME WITH UR ADVICE and if u got ur info of a web site please also giive me the link!
Answers:
Don't abuse your nails. To prevent nail damage, don't use your fingernails as tools to pick, poke or pry things.
Don't bite your nails or pick at your cuticles. These habits can damage the nail bed. Even a minor cut alongside your nail can allow bacteria or fungi to enter and cause an infection (paronychia). Because your nails grow slowly, an injured nail retains signs of an injury for several months.
Protect your nails. Wear cotton-lined rubber gloves when using soap and water for prolonged periods or when using harsh chemicals.
Perform routine nail maintenance. Trim fingernails and clean under the nails regularly. Use a sharp manicure scissors or clippers and an emery board to smooth nail edges. Never pull off hangnails — doing so almost always results in ripping living tissue. Instead clip hangnails off, leaving a slight angle outward.
Moisturize your nails frequently. Nails need moisture just like your skin does. Rub lotion into your nails when moisturizing your hands. Be sure to apply a moisturizer each time you wash your hands

Other Answers:
Put nail polish on them. Leave em' alone.

1. Calcium supplements will make your nails thicker.
2. Clip and file them regularly. That'll make em less brittle.

My mom

go to the nail shop
with artifical nails
they will grow underneath
thin but they will grow and take vitiamins
then take them off and start from there

more milk, more calcioum or however you spell it.lol

This is gonna sound funny but take a prenatal vitamin. Your nails will get stronger and your hair will look good too. Your body could be low on folic acid and other nutrients. They sell these OTC at Wal-mart and drug stores. Taking them if you are not pregnant will not hurt you either.

Take calcium supplements and do regular manicures, including pushing back the cuticles to expose new nail. Good luck

my mother has always sworn by soaking her nails in non flavored gelatin. i have found that prenatal vitamins help in both hair and nail growth. keeping them polished may help but i always find that discoloration follows.

Be patient and drink more calcuim.
