hiccups result from involuntary spasms of the diaphragm. success varies depending on the individual's response and the severity of the hiccups.

for me, nothing helps of these method helps. i just let it happen, it will go away by itslef.

hold your breath or drink water.

I put it out of my mind. I start composing a letter or listening to music. Distraction is the key.

None of those shock tricks ever worked for me.

hold your breath as long as you can immediately after your last hiccup*, and then let it out as slowly as possible when you can't hold it any more.

*Continue to hold your breath even if you are still hiccuping while you're holding your breath.

drink out the wrong side of a glass - ie. pour a glass of water, and then drink from the side furthest from you, which involves sort of tipping your head upside down..always works for me! Although it can make a bit of a mess, so do it over a sink!

take a deep breath hold u nose for about 1 min

I Tablespoon of sugar, put in mouth and let dissolve, yes you have to swallow but it will work Guranteed

I always take 10 sips of water and count them in my head as you sip and swallow.

Hold your breath.
Drink a glass of water quickly.
Become frightened.
Use smelling salts.
Pull hard on your tongue.
Place one-half teaspoon of dry sugar on the back of your tongue. (You can repeat this process 3 times at 2-minute intervals. Use corn syrup, not sugar, in young children.)
