The mascara I bought is too thick, is there any way to thin it down?!

Put it in a cup of very hot water for a few minutes. it really works. it also works when its starting to run out.

Don't return it! It means that it's a good mascara, it means that it wasn't sitting on the store shelve for a long time. It is fresh! Just push a brush against a tube and pull up. Brush your eyelashes with that side that has less mascara on. In a few weeks it won't be that thick.
wipe your mascara brush off with a tissue before you apply
Pop it in a bowl of warm water.
add a couple drops of water. only a couple drops. then mix up with the brush
