Can Zoloft Make You Sleep More?!

I recently started taking Zoloft and find myself sleeping until noon every day, sometimes resulting in accidentally missed college classes. I feel like I just CAN'T wake up!! Is this a common effect of Zoloft? What can I do about it?

Yes, Zoloft CAN make you sleep more. It is one of the side effects. If your sleepiness continues, then call your doctor so perhaps, he/she can put you on another medication. I have been taking it for quite awhile and have not had this problem. A friend of mine did though and just had to set a two alarm clocks to make sure she got up. Small price to pay for the benefits of the medicine. Just be sure you are going to bed early enough and if the problem is still severe, discuss it with your doctor. He/she can possibly describe something to help ease this effect or maybe put you on a drug similar to Zoloft that won't cause this. Good luck!
Try it for a couple weeks, the problem may go away. If not, go to your doctor and tell them you want to try something different. If they are resistant to this, go see a different doctor. Odds are, you'll have to try two or three different antidepressants before you find one that responds properly to you.
