Eat less of everything, drink lots of water and eat fibre rich foods like veg and fruits should be able to lose weight if you dont want to follow any diet fads, but it would be wise to avoid fatty, oily and eat less of high carbs foods like cakes, pastries, pasta and so on.Happy losing weight!

Drink alot of water and dont eat after 6:00 pm .It really works.

It depends a lot on your type of metabolism, but eating mainly fish (broiled, baked but not fried) and vegetables, while limiting fruit, bread, starch and sugars and fats will take the weight off most people very quickly. Add to this 40 minutes of vigorous aerobics (walking is fine) plus weights three times a week (can be done with 5 lb dumbbells at home even) and most people will lose weight quickly.

And you can get almost all your nutrition needs from fish and vegetables. Add a bit of brown rice or oatmeal once a day and fruit a few times a week. Essentially this is a Japanese diet, not faddy and it works extremely well and you feel full. If fish is hard to get in your area, you can substitute chicken breast with no skin and even a lean burger once in a while. A Foreman grill takes off the fat nicely. But fish is best. Schwanns delivery trucks can bring you decent frozen salmon and haddock and other fish if you are in a town that doesn't have a good fishmarket or grocery store.

Since most people (except Japanese) won't eat fish for breakfast, use oatmeal (especially steel-cut oats or Irish oatmeal) and alternate with a boiled egg in the morning. A hardboiled or softboiled egg is surprisingly low in calories. If you can't eat or won't eat oatmeal, add a slice of sprouted wheat breat and a bit of butter. You can put your fruit (a half banana) on the oatmeal to sweeten it or use an artificial sweetener, but I don't use any of those artificial things, I just cut up a banana or cook a prune or two with the oatmeal for sweetner, or I put butter and a touch of salt. You can have up to one pat of butter a day.
If walking on a treadmill bores you, get a dvd player, a cheap tv and rent movies or tv series. You will walk without even knowing you are exercising as you watch a film. Program the treadmill to do hills to intensify the workout.

If you can't afford or have no room for the treadmill, put tapes on a small cassette player and go outside. 40 minutes a day plus the fish and veggies will get it off you. I know. I am being treated for a nonworking thyroid, have gon e through menopause and I'm female, all of which make you tend to be heavy. I lost easily with this regime and I didn't suffer.
