Having children in your 30's is it bad?!

Question:

Answers:
I believe after the age of 35 it may be harder due to egg production but other than that I believe you will be safe. I've heard after 40 there are risks for birth defects, multiple births and miscarriage. I'm 33 and I already told Hubby if I'm not pregnant by 39, forget it!

Well, let me tell you a wonderful story! I had my first child at 33 (a daughter) and at 36, lo and behold, I had twin sons!! It was a little difficult stress-wise, but I have never regretted it! I even obtained my MBA in between having children and working. I also would like to add that I think you are more settled and patient in your 30's. (You sure don't sweat the small stuff!)

My last child I had when I was 37 yrs old, I had amniosentesis- I found out she was perfect and a girl. She weighed 9 lbs 8oz, So it is not bad. Now adays I think they have babies up to 40.

No, it's not bad. The risks do increase when you are 35 and over, but it's not too bad. Some woman in their 40's have perfect babies. Just make sure you eat right and take care of yourself and you will be fine.

I'm a new mommy of a healthly baby girl, and I'm 34 yrs. old. :)

I'm 33 and 18 weeks pregnant with my first. I think people are better off waiting.im so tired of hearing about all these children on here asking if they might be pregnant..

You're older, you're more established, you're more responsible. I think it's a good thing.

No having children in your 30's isn't bad, no clearly defined risks to an otherwise healthy pregnancy could be attributed to age alone. Some complications to waiting are Older women take longer to conceive and are more likely to miscarry. Pregnancies and delivery are more likely to be complicated by maternal illness. But an older woman who is healthy is no more likely to encounter complications than a younger woman.
