Do you know.The younger the answerer is the younger an old fart is suppose to be. You ought to realize you will be soon there then you think at that rate! I asked a young child what was an old person and he said 15!
Old fart use to be a funny think called to a Wis-cracking old guy that was nice, but being silly some time. As in "you old fart, you should have known better".
Now as the question is I would say that it generally means one that is very old that has at least reached the age of social security payments. Since that age is going up too, old farts are actually getting older before they are eligible for that title. As it stands now, the age would be 65 and older, but in about 5 years it will have gone to 66.5 as I understand the new social security age requirements.
