We were all females as eggs before the sperm came to donate it's chromosomes to make a male. The nipples on men are what would have been breasts, had they remained females.
It was also meant as a way for the men to be sort of a "wet-nurse", to pacify the baby for the mother so she could rest when we were in the "cave-man" era.

It saves transexuals $$ when they get the sex change from a guy to a woman. Otherwise, it would cost them more to have nipples.
The reason why they have nipples is because everyone starts out as a female while they were in their mother's womb. The fetus starts out as a female then if certain changes in hormones occur, it just starts evolving into a male. That explains why they have nipples. They all started out as girls before they were even born! hehe.
