How can I get rid of my continuous heartburn?!

It really annoys me. I've been on medication several times but once I stop the heartburn recur. Endoscopy revealed that my stomach and oesophagus are good. What can I do?

I get heartburn easily too. Eat smaller meals, and eat less spicey or fried foods. Take soda (carbonated water, not Coke or Pepsi) with your meal.

Keep a box of acid-relief tablets in your car in case your need them after dining out.

If this is a problem that occurs mostly at night then eat early. Give your body time to digest food before you go to bed. Also try tilting your bed upwards by placing a brick under each leg on the end that you have your head. This keeps the content of your stomach away from your oesophagus.

if you smoke then that don't help, don't drink too mant juice drinks or beer or fizzy drinks, drink plenty of milk and keep off the spicey food.

Try taking some tums.

c dont take it casually,,,,coz dat can b due to some lesions in ur upper or lower git(gastro intestitinal tract),,,n can be severe.so plz. don't take it in a cool way n rush to a doctor n go for a endoscopy if he suggests u,,,,or may b d possible reason is due to over production of gastric acid juice..so just dont increase ur antacid doses to relieve this but refer to a doctor,,,,my id is sachitgagneja@yahoo.com,,,,,fo. any further questions

I had to change my diet. Actually, what I did was eat smaller meals more often. I also make a point to drink lots of water throughout the day. I don't know how helpful this is since you are getting medical attention, but I thought I would tell you what worked for me.

sodium bicarbonate = baking soda. Add to water. Does the job very well. It is cheap and fast, but doesn't taste too good. It is strong and better than tums or Antacid. Stay away from rich foods, eat plenty of veggies (fiber), and cut back on salad dressings.
Check to see if your oesophageal-sphincter is working right. Most smokers sphincter will be a little lazy and so increases the probability of heartburn.
