Can you really lift weights to get that "cut up" muscle look?!

Question:
I read somewhere that muscles can only grow, shrink or stay the same size. That you need to lose the fat to get that "cut" look.

I also heard that to get a muscle "cut" you need to do more reps.

Which is it?

I mean can you or can't you shape a muscle with certain exercises (Machines, freewights)
Answers:
you need to do both.

Lifting weights is a HUGE factor in getting "Cut". But if you have fat on top then you can't see these muscles.

You should probably do both high reps with low amounts of weight, and low reps with high amounts of weight, this will provide size and tone for your muscles.

aaaaaaaaaa no sorry

to look "cut" you have to lower your body fat percentage so that the amount of fat between your skin and your muscles is small enough that your muscles show through.

lifting weights, doing more reps, etc will only build up the muscle.which in turn would make u look better if your body fat % was lower.

You have to do both cardio and weights/machines. The weights or machines will tone the muscles and make them defined, and the cardio gets rid of the fat that is hiding the muscles.

Yes you can, but you must remember that diet and nutrition have a lot to do with it. Also Fat tends to be between the muscle and the skin, so you get bigger, but without diet, the fat will still be there. If you want to cut, use low weight with lots of reps (5 sets of 15 to 20 lifts). If you want to be bigger, use low reps and heavy weights (3 sets of 5 to 8 lifts) as much as you can.

i think you must do both.
you must try and try more and more do not give up..
good luck.

The "cut look" you are describing is achieved by lowering your body fat percentage.
Of course the larger the muscle mass the more impressive you will look!
