how fast does regurgitation worsen in children with a bicuspid aortic valve?!
Question:
Answers:
Thats a tough question. It really depends on how bad the narrowing is. Many people live their whole lives with bicuspid valves and never have a problem. I have also seen children need to have the valve replaced but that is pretty uncommon. Most of the time it happens later in adulthood. The patient's cardiologist would be the best person to answer that since they can perform an ultrasound to see how bad the narrowing is, and whether any regurgitation is present now.
