i about to go to my first meeting with the surgen who will be doing the surgery

I had an open RYN and was out in three days. Most are 4-5 days that I know of depending on how you are. You will have to be up and walking a good bit before they'll let you go home. If you had it laproscopically, you could go home in two days.assuming you are up and walking.
