Does anyone know if the Nutrisystem diet works?!

Question:
Does it work well? Is it expensive? Does the food taste good? Is there enough food (do you feel hungry after eating)? Has anyone tries the Vegitarian program with Nutrisystem? Anything you would like to share is apriciated! Thanks!!
Answers:
It does work, But, the food is DISGUSTING, And, to damn expensive. I would recommend the Medifast Diet from Take Shape for Life. It is easy to do, simple and you see results quickly. And, it is cheaper than Nutrisystem. You are taught to eat 5-6 small Medifast meals a day. And, you eat every 2-3 hours so you are never hungry. There shakes & bars taste "AWESOME" and I can season there food anyway I want. It's healthy and it works. Good Luck!

I knew of 6 people PLUS MYSELF who was on nutrisystem. It DID NOT WORK. It is, in reality, rather expensive when you count the registering fee (which is crap) and you have to eat THEIR food.

I would NEVER NEVER recommend Nutrisystem to anyone to include my dog

I think the food is pretty decent. But it is rather expensive compared to other programs that I have seen. Take a look at the site below. There are some really good reviews listed on there. I am currently on the Denise Austin fit forever program. I like it because it was set up around my lifestyle. But you should really go with that you like. If you get any other questions just let me know!

here's the reason this, and ALL diets fail.

People use the word diet like its something thats temporary. What you really need is a "lifestyle" change. It requires 3 things
1) A new eating plan, 5-6 meals a day
2) More sleep
and yes, the one every slacker dreads.
3)EXERCISE, and not just exercise but cardio and weight training

Its better to check with your doctor and nutritionist but I like "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips

the truth is everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing (the 3 above things) but most people are looking for the "magic bullet" diet pill, supplement or whatever instead of doing what they really should.

dont be lazy, dont buy into gimmicks or fads.

Bigzellbo is right on the money! Ive never tried Nutrisystem or actually any type of diets. Like he said, it takes a lifestyle change along with exercise. I gained 60 lbs when i was pregnant! Ive lost it all and more just watching what i eat and EXERCISING. Exercising being the key word. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I am on it right now and I don't think it is expensive. It comes out to $10 a day plus $2 or $3 for the fresh fruits and veggies you supplement the diet with. I spend more than that on fattening stuff every day. I have tried some of the vegetarian entrees and they are pretty good. I wouldn't really say that they are better or worse than a lean cuisine or a ww dinner. I disagree with the poster about "everyone looking for a magic bullet" or whatever. It would be nice if we all had the discipline to eat proteins, veggies, do exercise, and maintain it (not to mention portion control). I think that nutrisystem offers a good way to at least get a head start by having your meals chosen for you. Maybe they don't taste sooo delicious. but you get what you pay for and the zone diet costs more than double! I suggest you try it for a week. You don't have to sign up for the month.

Good luck!

Hey, I'm a vegetarian and I have gone on and off Nutrisystem a few times. The thing that kind of sucks about the vegetarian program is there is only 5-6 dinner meals available. It gets really boring, but all in all the food doesn't taste bad. I'd say if you are used to a typical vegetarian diet it is pretty expensive though. I lost a few lbs and then went off because being on such a strict diet (only eating the food on the program) is really difficult when friends want you to go out to eat with them, and I live with my boyfriend and we like to cook and share meals together. Basically, it's easy (in some respects), and if you stay on it you will definitely see results. I just don't have the willpower.
