How would you deal with an insulting person who knows just which buttons to push!

Question:

Answers:
You can either ignore them - which is the best option and eventually they will go away. Or, should they not go away, say some variation of this:

"Wow - what's wrong with you that you enjoy behaving this way? Did you have an unhappy childhood? Man, if I was as insecure as you are to try to push everyone's buttons all the time, I would seriously consider therapy. Maybe even medication. I feel really sorry for you."

Nine times out of ten, that was their problem and you have just successfully pushed their buttons. Unfortunately you have also just made an enemy for life. They'll deny it, of course - but they might not mess with you again.

Other Answers:
don't give them what they want.you being upset

eventually they will give up and go mess with someone who will give them what they want

Just smile at them. Just don't get mad and it will piss the other person off.

SMACK THEM WITH A STICK!! WORK`S EVERYTIME

Cut them loose. You deserve better

Stay as far away from them as you can,try to keep only positive people in your life

1. Completely ignore them.
2. Go away from them. Go to another room. or leave and go somewhere else.

Try to ignore them or tell them how you feel. Then tell someone in authority like a teacher.

Just pretend youre not offended!

Keep away from them they are contemptable and beneath you. You can't win because they know your weak spots.

I myself will tolerate it to a limit. Then I'd stomp a mud hole in there butt.

Real life!

walk away or just b like whatever

Ignore the person. Continue walking, since you have better things to do, rather than dealing with ignorant people.

Best thing would be to avoid them, but if that's not possible, then try changing your buttons.

people like that are usually good at combacks, they somewhat want you to fight fire with fire, don't, try the cold shoulder treatment or distance yourself from them

stay away from him or her. sooner or later he or she will get the message.

Let them know how uncivilized they are and how un-Christian it is to be that way. Try to appeal to their religous convictions, if they have any.

If this person is aware of how you feel, forget it, because people like that feed off being nasty and getting to you.

The only choice you have is to totally oust that person from your life. Why would you allow this to continue? You are to blame as much as the person doing it because you ALLOW this behavior from them.

Of course, you might really enjoy being insulted. Think about it.

fix your buttons.buttons are nothing more then flaws in ones personality and maturity.you cannot change the other person you can only change yourself so why not use this as a positive thing and use it to make yourself a better person. then send them a thank you for helping you and watch their jaw drop to the floor.

smile and walk away

I don't deal with them at all. I get them out of my life.

just keep out of thier way

Stab them with a pencil.

Get some space. Screen your calls.
Only talk to that person when you feel calm and
ready to handle the conversation with grace.

Consider that you might not want to talk to them ever again.

I know all this is not possible when you're dealing with a family member, for instance. But you can still maintain
your privacy as best you can and have good control when you know you're going to have to talk to that person.

If it is a family member or friend, maybe another family member or mutual friend can help you change that person's behavior.

Send Chuck Norris in with a roundhouse kick!

I think about the people that have affected me negatively and tell God that I forgive them and ask Him to help them not to do those things again. I do this over and over again if I have to until I don't feel hurt anymore.

Two Words KNOCK-OUT i don't deal with that crap.
