Brown discharge after being off of birth control patch for 7 months?!

Ive been off of the patch for seven months now and ive been having brown discharge before and sometimes after my periods. It doesn't happen every month, but I'm still getting it. I never had this kind of discharge before and it only happens around my period. Im trying to get pregnant and Im worried that this could be effecting my chances. Should I be worried? Does anyone know what is causing this?

The brown discharge is old blood that your body hasn't gotten rid of yet. Before going off the patch, did you have your period regularly, if not that's why. I would see your dr. just to make sure though.

u need to consult ur doctor i used to be on that patch until i got a blood clot my advise go get check for dvt if ur having any pain or swelling i've never experience the discharge tho and i was only on it for 3 mos i was scare my doctor told me that i was lucky i could have died
It has to do with your estrogen levels still being high after your period has ended. If you are trying to get pregnant this could be a symptom of over compansating hormones and you should ask your doctor about monitoring your hormone levels. The birthcontrol in the patch is very strong, it causes a huge jump in your levels which isn't necessary for everyone. In some people it changes how much hormone the body produces even when they have stopped. It shouldn't cause any health problems to you but could make it harder to get pregnant. Ask your doctor.
