My boyfriends hangy thing (ulva) in back of throat is severly swollen~?!

MY boyfriend woke up this morning and his ulva ((hangy thingy at the back of your mouth) is severley swollen its scaring the crap out of me but hes to stubborn to go to the doctors.. It is huge! And he is spitting out blood. He went out drinking last night.. has this happened to anyone before?:? what is it? please respond asap!!

my best friend had to go get hers removed. he needs to go to the hospital and they will probably do surgery on him when they get the swelling to go down.. also it is very dangerous for it to swell so i would get him to the e.r. as fast s u can
If he won't go to the doctor then why don't you call the doctor. At least that way the doc can explain to you what he needs to do.
sounds like tonsilitis, that can kill you if you don't get it removed. he needs to go to the doctor, if not the emergency room right away!
Unless he wants it to get worse, and then possible and infection or surgery, he should get it checked NOW. Tell him that it is worth even going to the er over. It is better to be safe than sorry. If it happens to him all the time tho, maybe it is normal for him? I've never heard of that before.
It could be tonsilitus, and spitting blood isn't too serious but if there is a lot of blood then he needs to go to the doctors. Try some sore throat medication and paracetamol. Men are martyrs i am afraid.
Severe infection of throat caused by exposure to cold after a heavy bout causes it.In all probability his stomach also is effected.A doctor can cure it.
That is his uvula, and he may have a form of strep, (which can be fatal if Left untreated,) its a flesh eating disease. He should go to his Dr. or a walk in clinic. Does he just like to procrastinate? Or is he scared of Dr.s?
If he is a procrastinator just tell him your taking him out shopping and show up at the walk in. Once he is there tell him he is getting it fixed or he's walking home. Oh yeah, and Don't kiss him what ever the infection is, its most likely contagious.
