What are the side effects of taking the drug serequol and coffee and caffeine pi!
Question:
I work with a 16 year old with down syndrome. She is on serequol for behavior. Well as you know serequol causes
extreme drowziness ,and its almost impossible to get anything done, so the parents have been giving her coffee and caffeine pills. This cant be good for her body. giving her one drug for sleep and another to wake up.

I'll tell you one thing, being on seroquel is not fun. I would take the effects of caffine over being in a trance all day.

Seroquel can be taken at night to decrease daytime sedation. I have seen people take up to 500 mg at night. It also takes awhile to get used to. The drowziness usually goes away within 2-3 weeks. I would not take caffeine pills or too much coffee with Seroquel.
Any kind of alertness from caffeine is a "false" alertness.
