Is it possible to lose 40 lbs. in exactly 3 months?!

Question:
I want to lose 40 pounds by August 21. I know this is a lot, but I'm ready and willing to try just about anything. It's not just about the weight, I really want to try to live healthier. Can you give me an idea of how much/what kind of exercise helped you as well as food ideas? Also, I know you're not supposed to take pills or drink a lot of caffeine, but if it helped you lose 40+ pounds in under 3 months, what did you take? Thanks.
Answers:
Small frequent meals, avoiding starches almost entirely.
Be careful taking pills for weight loss, I know of a girl that died of a heart attack at the young age of 21, she was taking diet pills and jogging and died out in a field by
herself. Very sad.
Exercise is essential, try varying your workout.
Don't be discouraged if you only lose 20 lbs, that still would be a great success.
The most important advise- Think, eat and live like a thin person.

Other Answers:
dont take anything. what you want to do is limit your calorie intake to 2000 a day, and try to avoid things that are high in fat.

EXERCISE EVERY DAY. you want to be sweating really hard during and after a workout, at least once a day.

honestly, 40 lbs might be too much. but if you really work towards it, you can do it. but i would highly suggest consulting a doctor first.

I believe that you can do it. You just have to work very hard at it and don't give up on yourself.

sure! stop eating..

Of course, you can. Cauze' I'd lost 30 ponds in 2 months. But, I have to say..You have to be careful beacsue it's an unhealthy way to lose your weight. And it may hurt your body. After losing 60 ponds among 6 months, I don't think I am healthier than before.

I have lost that much weight in half the time. However I DONT THink it was healthy. PLus when I stopped my workout I gained it all back. I lost the weight by eating a bunch of small meals during the dayfor example a apple, a can of tuna would be my total meal. Taking hydroxicut and running two milesevery day. When I changed my eating habits back to regular meals I gained back ten pounds a week.

exercise, eat many veggies

Do not take pills; they ruin your liver. I lost fifty pounds in four months while using the Weight Watchers Winning Points system and walked on a treadmill for about an hour a day. So my advice is to try that. If fifty pounds in four months is possible then I am sure forty in three is also.

Good luck!

I'm now trying Lepto-something (the cheaper version). It's not doing as well as they claim. IF I watch every bite I eat, I feel nauseous from hunger. Not only that, but I researched diet pills on the Net, and they're only good for 3 months. After that, they stop working. It's just as well, or we'd "waist away" to nothing.

Here's the easiest way to do it. Reduce your daily intake by 1000 calories and increase your daily exercise by 20-30 minutes. Exercise can include walking the dog, raking the yard, dancing, riding a bike, etc.

If you do this, you can lose two pounds a week, which is about the limit for healthy weight loss. If you go on a crash diet, you can lose weight faster at first, but you will gain it back (plus more) even faster. Slow and steady is the key.

Don't just reduce your calories. You have to increase yiour activity, or else your body will slow its metabolism and you won't lose the weight.

If you reduce by 500 calories a day, you can lose a pound a week. Eat all the vegetables you want. Fruit is also good, if you don't eat more than 3 servings a day because it has sugar in it. Limit meat to 2-4 ounces a day. about the size of a deck of cards. You don't really need more than that. And skip the junk food. Or at least cut back on it. If you're serious, you can do it. Ask people to encourage you, or find a weight-loss buddy.

YES YOU CAN DO IT . EAT HEALTHIER.AND EXERCISE.

I just drank an excessive amount of water and did a lot of crunches, I didn't do them all at once, I'd say about 20 in the morning and 20 at night. Eat a lot of salad and stay away from meats as much as possible. You'll do it!

The most I've lost is 26 pounds and that was with a program called Lindora which is available in California.

The thinkg is, the heavier you are, the more weight you can lose.

I would recommend walking, starting at 15 minutes a day and adding 5 minutes a week, adding 3-5 minutes a week until you get to 45 - 60 minutes.

Low carbing really seems to be the best way to go.

Cut the sugars, the starchy foods like bread, rice, peas, corn, rice, carrots and potatoes.

Focus on lean proteins, lean dairy, fresh veggies and fruits.

Stay away from more than 1/3 to 1/2 a banana at a time, and pineapple.

Check out the zone. Barry Sears developed the program. It makes sense. 21 grams of proteins, 9 grams of fats and 27 carbos at each meal. You can have mini m&ms with a cheese stick for a snack! My husband called it the eat to lose weight diet!

It works!

Good luck!

in order for you to accomplish that feat you would have to lose 1500 calories everyday more then what you put in for 90 days straight.
that means if you eat 1500 hundred calories a day you would have to burn 3000 calories everyday for 90 days straight. the reason is that each pound of fat has 3500 calories in it.
In order to burn 3000 calories a day you would have to run on the treadmill for about 3 hours a day. or do somekind of high impact exercise or sport for at least 3 hours a day, everyday for 90 days.

I don't think you'll do it in that short amount of time.
there is always liposuction.

Is it possible, yes. Is it healthy, no. You obviously want to lose weight for a special occasion, not a good idea. You should want to lose it because you want to start a healthier lifestyle.

When you lose weight too fast, you only set yourself up for gaining it back just as fast. And that is NOT healthy at all.

It is best to do two things; start eating right, start exercising. Eating right means low fat, high fiber healthy eating. No junk; no sodas, no burgers and fries, etc. Exercise means getting up and out the door daily for a walk, at least 20-30 minutes. Or join a gym and use the machines, weights and pool, that's cross training, which is an excellent way to go.

Drink water.lots of water.it helps to flush the fat away too.

It is possible to lose 40 lbs in three months, but you must use strict discipline. The perfect way to optimize your metabolism is to begin with protein for two days. Drink only water during these first two days. Eat vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, celery, during this initial stage. Also, eat protein such as steak, grilled chicken, fish, etc. It is very important that you eat five small meals throughout the day. This is sure to get you off to a good start. You should lose about four pounds during this stage. After this, you can transition to a low-calorie balanced diet. Drink ten eight ounce glasses of water and don't eat anything after six o'clock. Dexatrim is a great appetie suppressant that really works.

As a wrestler, I've lost 36 lbs in 5 days. Later losses like this caused my immune system to collapse. I never took laxatives or vomited. Since you are looking a losing 13.3 lbs a mouth, you must have a strong dedication to never deviate. The first lbs are the easiest. I found the bike machines at the local YMCA and swimming to help the best. The average lady needs 1200 calories a day and should not deprive themselves of calories. I didn't during those five days. Three months should give you enough time to find the appropriate diet and exercise plan for you.
