I recently just got my braces off.and I have a plastic retainer, can I use it?!

Question:
as a tray for bleaching my teeth? My GP Dentist sold me some gel in a syringe, dental strength.
Answers:
Not all bleach trays are made with the little pockets that the following answer said. My office doesnt make the pockets because you dont need that much bleach on your teeth. But I would ask your dentist or orthodontist about it first because the trays may be made with a different material that isnt made to handel the bleach..

Other Answers:
consult your dentist first, bleaching may actually be bad for the teeth

Usually custom bleaching trays are made with little pockets if you will, to hold the beach against your teeth, the plastic retainer isn't made that way it is flush against your teeth so the bleach will be pressed out when you place your retainer in.

Bleaching Trays have small resevoirs that are made to recieve a drop of bleach. The resevoirs keep the bleach against the desired surface. if you use your retainers and they lack the resevoirs you can get the bleach all over the place. This can seriously burn your gums.
