Answers:
Someone is trying to get you going!

First of all, if you wash everything well and keep all things clean, rinse and properly dried, there is no fear.

No, you cannot get sick from the sponge washing your dishes. But I trust that you are RINSING your dishes well.. and not leaving the soap on.

Other Answers:
it is not going to get you sick, make sure yiu soak the sponge in hot water first then use it

You won't get sick from using a sponge to wash your dishes. As long as you use a fresh sink full of water and more soap each time, you should be fine! A lot of the bacteria was on your food before you ate it anyway. There's not enough bacteria to make you sick. Your body can fight it off!

Run your sponges through the dishwasher on a hot setting, with heat dry, that will kill any bacteria in them. Also, you can soak them in a 10% bleach solution and that will help to make them safe also. Using antibacterial soaps at all times might not be protecting you like you might think. You may just be causing, otherwise safe bacteria, to die allowing more harmful bacteria to live and become antibiotic resistant. Some bacteria is good, and can actually help keep some more harmful bacteria away.

soak your dish rag and sponge in a weak solution of water and bleach i grantee that will kill germs and bacteria also use that water to wipe counter tops

Well, if you don't rinse out your sponge after cleaning your dishes from the previous time, this can be true.

However, an easy way to remedy this is to always wash out your sponge when you're done using it. Use hot water to do this.

If the dishes are clean, and no food residue is left on them, there's virtually no bacteria that remains on your dishes. Dirty dishes, with food particles still stuck on them, if used again without being cleaned first may contain some bacteria. Even then that can be a stretch.

Use a store bought square sponge. (They're not real sponges anyway.) These actually are easier to clean and it is less likely that any bacteria will remain on it. Actual sponges can hold more bacteria in them and are more difficult to clean and rinse out.

Finally, anti-bacterial soap is great, but take it with a grain of salt. Many tests have been recently reported on the "anti-bacterial" soap craze only to find they work no better or worse than non-anti-bacterial soaps.

Bottom line. if you clean your sponge, use hot water, keep your dishes and utensils clean, and handle your raw food with care, you shouldn't have an issue.

Good luck.

Wash dishes with a dish rag or brillo pad in hot water with a little ammonia and a moderate amount of dish soap and your dishes will be squeaky clean.

Bacteria (plural), Bacterium (singular) It is a good practice to be health-conscienced when preparing foods, etc. Like using clean utensils, washing veg., cooking meats throughly, not eating too old of leftovers. But don't get too paranoid. Bacteria is everywhere. and it is supposed to be. It's part of this world and they also contribute to it as well. There is good and bad. We couldn't live in this world without them, really. If you rinse your sponges well and change them periodically, you will be fine. like the rest of us.

of course!! don't use a sponge! all you have to do is use something else.like, the dish washer or something like that. we live in a world that practicly anything can be done with out humans!..you'll figure something out!
