Do you get the same benefits from yoga as you do from strength training?!

Question:

Answers:
You will get some of the same benefits, as many of the yoga poses are similar to weight lifts - only the weight you use is your body weight, not iron. Pilates is probably a little better for achieving results. They're both wonderful for relaxation and flexibility.

However, as the previous answerer says, if you want results, there is no substitution for the real thing! If you are interested, here are some good weight lifting exercises to do that don't require a set of weights:

Here's another set of more creative exercises without weights (by the way, read this site - this chick rocks):

Other Answers:
No - although power yoga (ashtanga) will build some strength and flexibility, Good old fashioned weight training can potentially build more strength/mass/power as well as increasing bone density. Don't get me wrong, yoga is great, but weights should be a part of any complete fitness routine

no, two seperate parts of the muscle
