The nicotine patches certainly help the withdrawal, if used as directed for about 2 or 3 months. But I wouldn't embark on this path, unless yur very serious about quitting. You will slowly get unaddicted, but the process will take years(if you stay clean of all tobacco). Eat fruit, drink fruit juice, and get some mild exercise like going for walks.

First, break your routine..If you smoke while driving..don't.Go outside your home to smoke ( you will probably cut your smoking in 1/2 real quick ) Keep your mind occupied and your hands busy..
use Wellbutrin, it is an anti-depressant and works to help you stop smoking by making cigaretts taste terrible
