I usually feel STRESS before saying your speech in a lecture? How to CALM down?!

Question:
i work as a teaching assitant i just feel stress when i m about to present my lecture.. how to reveal this stress away.
Answers:
I'm sure you already do some things to help, but I am going to list many ways to help calm you down. I taught Instructors in the Marines for 13 years.

Number one rule

Know your Material, Know your Material, Know your Material

Other Rules

Try to include humor during your attention getter, always being sure the humor aplies to the subject matter, and is appropriate.

Pick a friend in the class or audience, someone who smiles at you, and begin the presentation to that person, once you are going than move your eye contact around the room.

If you can relate the subject matter to a language your students understand, using todays musical artists, or clothing lines, or even parts of speech, the class will warm up to you and you to them.

There are so many, remember confidence is the key, and the way to confidence is through knowledge. Know your subject!

P.S. The old saying about picturing someone in the class or audience is naked, doesnt work. It's easy to forget what you are discussing when your laughing that hard.

Best of Luck, Your gonna be a Great Teacher!

Other Answers:
Do yoga breathing.

Focus on one person in the audience, rather than the whole audience.

The best way to get over the stress is to start with a quick something to make the people smile or laugh. Then take a deep breath and imagine you're the most important person in the room at that time, everyone is now learning from you. After each period in your lecture, speech, or presentation take a deep breath but don't be obvious about it. Good luck!

I'm a teacher too. you are the theacher which it mean that you are more scince from any one in the room so why stress. we ahve what is mean "the teacher reach the profit degree"

Many people would rather die than get in front of an audience to do public speaking. So, I commend you for being brave enough to do it. I find the best way to relax in front of a group is to be well prepared, practice and try to talk as naturally as possible. Let your personality come through. And, remember, the people who are listening to you are there to hear what you have to say and to learn from you. It helps to be excited and passionate about the knowledge and expertise that you have to share. As you keep doing it you'll see that it will get easier and easier each time.

I have given many presentations at conferences regarding bilingual education.

Check into some breathing exercises. And remember they are only people in the audience. The same as you.
