There isn't really a defanite answer for 'long hair' but i'd say about 2 inches!

Well, when you look in hair books u know like when u go to get ur hair cut.long is usually like one or two inches past.
It depends if you are talking about boys or girls
boys, if its as long as the shoulders it would be considered long.
girls, if its 5 or so inches past the shoulder it would be considered long.
That's a judgment call. When I got my haircut last summer, it was about 16" long. After the haircut, it was then above my shoulders, but some people still considered it long.
there is short hair - above the shoulders, just past the ears or grown out, in need of a trim.
Then ther is shoulder length - it falls around the shoulders give or take 3 inches.
Long hair is distinguishable by 3 inches past the shoulder, I think 2 inches is debatable given longer or shorter necks.

When you flip your hair back, if it disappears behind your shoulders and can stay there when you turn you head to the side, it is long. Otherwise, it is just "shoulder length".
