salicylic acid poisoning?!

Question:
Hi, I've been using a face wash that contains about 2%(i think) salicylic acid. I've been using it for a very long time now(over 2 years) I use it twice a day to wash my face. I came accross this site that said:

Symptoms of salicylic acid poisoning
Confusion; diarrhea; dizziness; fast or deep breathing; headache (severe or continuing); hearing loss; lightheadedness; nausea; rapid breathing; ringing or buzzing in ears (continuing); severe drowsiness; stomach pain; vomiting

I've been noticing some of these symptoms, mainly fatigue even though i get a full nights rest. My question is, Can I get poisoning if i only use it to wash my face(though I've been using it for a very long time)?
Answers:
Salicyclic acid is the active ingredient in aspirin. Ingesting an overdose of aspirin will cause the effects you describe primarily through something called metabolic acidosis.its probably useful to think of that condition as having too much acid in your blood stream. One way to rid your body of the extra acid is to hyperventelate (CO2 = acid as far as the body is concerned) hence that symptom.

Now for your question. I seriously doubt that enough if any of that product is actually absorbed transdermally (that is through the skin). It would further not be the case that you have been building up stores of this toxcity and now are having symptoms. The body is very careful to keep its pH within 7.40 +/- 0.02 points at all times, so if you happened ingest something with too much acid, through breathing and your urine then body would do its work to get the pH back to normal.

Other Answers:
A wash doesn’t get very much aspirin in your system. Poisoning should occur when you take massive doses of aspirin. Only in pill form.

o, wait. first you should see in the article if it was taken in, or if it was applied on face.

i doubt if the side effects goes with applied in the skin. why? because there's diarrhea in there. you won't have diarrhea unless you have taken in the substance..

and a stupid person is the only one who can ingest such acid. maybe there's something about the so-called symptoms that you are experiencing right now. but i don't blame the salicylic acid for it..
