I consume about 2000. In Dieteics training we were taught a rough way to estimate caloric need for a day. It is 15 calories per lb of body weight. So, as I weight 130lbs, I need to consume about 1950 to maintain my body weight. To lose weight, one needs to consume 500 calories less than what is needed to maintain body weight.

I am a personal trainer. Do not use the common web sites that will give you a general calculated answer. In my experience everyone is different. There is only 1 way to find out for sure. You have to breathe into a device that reads your body specifically. Today's technology is amazing in that now you can get this test at any 24hr fitness gym without being a member. You use to have to go to a specialized doctor. It's called the body gem test and cost $50. No matter who else answers this question, without taking that test, their answer will be a guesstimate. You can use google to find a website that will give you a calculation based off info about yourself but again, it's a general answer.
I routinely have people blow and get high numbers and low numbers that would have never come up via the calculations.
