I need step by step instructions on how to tie a tie?!

Question:

Answers:
1. Lift up the collar of your shirt and put the tie around the back of your neck. The wide end should hang down about twice as low as the thin end; it can hang closer to your right or left hand, depending on what's most comfortable for you.

2. Wrap the wide end around the thin end twice, a few inches below your neck. The wide end should go over the thin end at first.

3. After wrapping the wide end around the second time, push it through the back of the V-shape made by the partially formed knot.

4. Tuck the wide end through the front loop of the knot.

5. Gently pull down on both the thin and wide ends below the knot until the knot is tight.

6. Hold the thin end and slide the knot up to your neck.

7. If the thin end hangs below the wide end, untie the tie and begin again, with the wide end hanging lower than it did the first time.

8. If the wide end hangs too low, untie the tie and begin again, with the wide end hanging higher than it did the first time.

9. Flip your collar back down once you and your tie look dapper.

there ya go, my husband needs to go here everyday to tie his tie!

hold it from the middle with the big side on the right. when u hold it have the big side be twice as long as the small one.
put the big one over the small one.
hold where they meet.
put the big side through the loop from the bottom up.
bring the big side from the top part of the loop down to the right of the small side of the tie.
then bring it behind the small side. stick it through the loop from the top.
turn it over and hold the big part.
put it through this loop thing under the loop of the neck. then tighten it.
if it doesn't tighten correctly that means u have to tighten it while u are doing the tie not just at the end.

A diagram is best. There is a real art or science to it actually because you have to use some discretion at times and it can depend on the material. Silk ties are the mots forgiving. Ties made out of Velcro or seat belt material are the least. But they never fall off either. It's a well known fact that bow ties went out of style because there were too many steps involved. Personally I can say super glue, staple guns and duct tape will all do the trick but the results leave something to be desired.

The best thing is that once you've figured it out, never ever take it off again. You can remove a shirt, take a shower, sleep and just forget about the fact you've still got a tie around your neck.
