depends on what rate you work harder. i would say treadmill because more muscles are being used than just sitting on a bike.

tread mill, hands down!! Gets every part of your bod moving. Works for me!

It depends on how often and how long you plan to exercise.

It depends on a couple of things.
How much space do you have? Some treadmills fold up, true, but unfolded they need a lot of room, and if you have to move furniture every time you have to work out, you won't do it.
What kind of shape are you in? If you're very overweight or in very bad shape, a bike would be better because after all, you're sitting down. Plus I think bikes are cheaper.
I happen to like stair machines better than either, but that's just me.

Kick boxing it gives cardio and strength at the same time. I dropped so much weight w/o even dieting or trying and i had to increas me protien intake

The best way to loose weight is to Push yourself away from the table and quit eating between meals or spend money on treadmills an exercise bikes.

To be honest I think an elliptical trainer is really the best piece of exercise equipment. It gets your legs and arms moving and burns far more calories than either the bike or treadmill. I use both the elliptical trainer (about 5 miles in the morning) and the treadmill (another 2 miles at night). But I think to get started exercising the treadmill is probably the best as you can sort of start slow and work your way up in miles and speed and you can watch TV or even read on the treadmill. As it's really important just to get started exercising, start with a treadmill and try and do it everyday for a least a month. I've read if you do something consistently for a month, you start a new habit. So start exercising and start a new and healthy habit.

A treadmill pumps up the heart and burns calories more, but a bike helps build of muscles in the thighs, buttocks, and calves so alternation of each will help to keep you lean and a bit toned

i believe using either will help with weight loss using more of a intense workout will so result also it is in your diet
