HIV through mouth?!

Question:
HIV can infect through mouth?******** can pass it or not?
Answers:
You can be infected through your mouth, but maybe not in the way you think. You would have to drink over a gallon of someone's saliva to get HIV from them that way, so it is safe to kiss or share a drink with someone with HIV. If you are performing or al sex on someone, however, and you have any cuts in your mouth, say from eating sharp foods like chips earlier, or if you have had any gums bleeding when you brush your teeth, you could get HIV from their sexual fluids. You may have cuts on the roof of your mouth or tongue and not even know it, so to be safe always use protection during or al sex.

Other Answers:
HIV can not be spread by saliva. The only way it can be transferred by blood. If you and your partner who had HIV had cuts on your lips or tongues the virus would be spread. Same as if you were cut in basketball on your wrist and a HIV player was cut and you made contact.

From what I've heard, it can't pass through saliva, only blood

hello just to let you know i have taken medical classes and it is possible to contract hiv through saliva.but you would have to drink it like water. But if the carrier has an open sore and you also have one the chances go up dramatically.

only if there is cuts in the mouth ,,but through saliva you are safe but beware there are other std that can infect you orally or even by having oral sex

Yes, HIV can be spread through the mouth. Saliva that has traces of blood in it can pass HIV to another person's mouth. It is not as easy as vaginal or anal sex, but it is still possible.
Protect yourself anyway possible.

Yes it is possible. HIV is passed through bodily secretions such as semen and blood. The possibilities that is can be transmitted through saliva and sweat is very small and almost unheard of. The mouth has tiny blood vessels in it that absorbs small amounts of substances directly into the blood stream. Making it a possiblity- very small possiblity but still one neverless to contract HIV orally.

You can get HIV through oral s- ex, you can't always be certain that there is no small cut or sore in your mouth
