how can i get my 8 month old daughter to swallo some liquid medicine without spi!

Question:
she always coughs and splutters till she gets it out it's not a seriouse disease so we have time she just cries a lot more
Answers:
close her nostrils and put the med. forcibly in her mouth ( remember she should better not be crying at that time) Closing her nostril will make her swollow the medicines immidiately , but remember to open the nostrils in max of 2-3 seconds or as early as she swollows.

BE CAREFUL AND GENTLE !

Other Answers:
Well, gently hold her nose. She has to open her mouth and it will go down when she opens up.

If she's laying on her back, try blowing in her face (like up her nose, a quick burst), it makes them swallow everytime.

after giving her the med lightly blow in her face

put it in the bottle

If you're using a dropper, try to get the tip way back on the tongue. She can't spit it out from there, but sometimes it's a challenge to get it there.

I just remembered, a few times I used a bottle nipple with the med in it. They'll suck a nipple out of habit no matter what it is. By the time they realize it's yucky, it's too late. They say don't do it because they can swallow too much air. Just make sure the nipple has a bit left in it so no air gets in her. I don't know why it's a concern, because they suck air when normal formula bottle goes empty. That's what burps are for. Don't mix the med in the formula though, that's nasty.

Hi, I'm a mom of 4--so I can remember what that was like.

The best way I found was to use the syringe style medicine spoons. It will look a lot like an "empty shot". (they usually give them away at any of the pharmacies)

fill the syringe to the desired dose and, while holding her on your lap like you would to nurse or give a bottle, insert the syringe into the corner of her mouth that is closest to you. Make sure not to "lay her down" too much, just tipped back at a slight incline. Then kind of put it in the back corner of her mouth. Slowly start to "push" the medicine in--if she doesn't feel she's choking she won't get upset. Also, this helps because it keeps most of the medicine off most of the taste buds--so they kinda deal with it better.

Another hint: keep a pleasent attitude and expression. If it doesn't look like you are relaxed about it--she won't be. Be careful to try to make it "fun" or funny.

just experience

Get one of those feeding syringes from the drug store with one of those long attachments pieces and squirt the medicine more into the cheek area.

As a Note. I never took care of a baby. This is what I have done with pets. LOL. Same concept though.

THE TWO RESPONSES BEFORE MINE ABOUT SQIRTING MEDICINE THROUGH A SYRINGE INTO THE CHEEK IS THE BEST. MY SON WAS NOT A REAL PROBLEM BUT MY DAUGHTER WAS SHE WAS A REAL FIGHTER I GOT IT DOWN EVERY TIME.
