Have u ever missed the week you were supposed to start your bith control pills?!

Question:
I was supposed to start my birth control pills last Sunday and forgot? Does anyone know if I started this Sunday if it would irregulate my system? or shall I wait until next month to start again?
Answers:
Wow, you forgot to take your pill for 5 days? Since you are sunday starter, take one pill starting today every day until sunday and through your current pack out. Start a brand new pack on sunday. You have to use a back up method from now until 7 days AFTER you start your new pack. You may not have a period the month during your current pack or you may have spotting.

The reason most doctors have you start a pill on sunday is so u remember to take it.

Now, I'm not sure if you are starting your first pack of pills, or u have been on them for a while.

If it is your very first pack, you need to wait until you get your period and then either start on the first day of your period (if your pills have labels that have the weeks starting on different days.) or the first sunday AFTER your period, even if your period starts on sunday.

If you do a day one start, you dont need to use a back up birth control method, if you do the sunday start, you have to use a backup method for 7 days.

If you forgot to take your pill for 5 entire days, you may want to invest in something like the patch or ring. Missing pills can be detrimental to the effectiveness of the pill. You have to take it at the same time EVERYDAY for it to be most effective. I set my timer at work in my outlook calendar, I have an alarm on my cell phone daily as well.

Good luck

I do have a suggestion, but really the best answer is to ask you Doctor.

It's probably fine. Since you've missed a week you should use a back-up until you've been taking the pill again for a whole month's cycle. Check with your doc, it'll likely cause a little irregularity/spotting while you're reaclimating yourself.
