A person that has been infected with HIV can go without symptoms for a long time- years can go by before the body shows any signs of being sick. There are oral diseases related to HIV, but they are more likely to be seen in someone who has been infected for quite some time. You can visit the Centers for Disease Control website or The Body.com for more information on HIV/AIDS. If you think you might be infected, GET TESTED. You can request an HIV test from your family doctor, or go to a clinic such as Planned Parenthood for free testing. Some sites offer something called rapid testing- you can get a result in as little as 20 minutes.
