Would eating carrots excessively increase your chance of weight gain/loss?!

I am eating them at night so that I stay away from all my easter candy/other chocolate. Do you think it will contribute either way?

If you ate nothing but a low calorie low carb food most of the day and then ate lots of carrots at night, you probably wouldnt gain any weight.

However, there is a big downside to that one. Carrots altho very good for you for many reasons, have alot of natural sugars in them. Those sugars taken especially before bedtime are not good, heres why.

The Human growth hormone heals our bodies and keeps us young. This hormone is only secreted at certain times in the body and under the right conditions. One way for the HGH to be released is at night during sleep, but only during stage 3 and 4 sleep. Also during heavy vigorous exercise. Sugars, of any kind stop the HGH in its tracks. If you eat alot of sugars of any kind, be it natural or not before bedtime, your HGH will not be secreted during sleep. And you desperately need it to be.

A good nightime snack is a salad. Lots of greens, even throw on some avacados if you like. Stay away from the croutons. Another good one is low carb peanut butter and celery, or a lean meat sandwhich with a low carb tortilla, believe me they are good.

I do believe that all vegetables are safely eaten with no weight gain. But perhaps you will see weight loss..

carrots are high in carbs . they should be eaten in moderation.

No carrots have a lot of sugar in them, though natural you should avoid sugar in your diet when trying to loose weight.

i don't believe so. carrots are a good vegetable to eat (preferably raw), but as with all foods, eating too much of one thing is not a great idea.

a diet with lots of fruits and vegetables that is low in animal protein is probably your best bet for losing weight- combined with exercise such as walking or jogging.

Erm, according to the south beach diet, carrots are a no-no.

There is a good way to get a little bit of chocolate without totally busting the scale.
½ c part-skim ricotta cheese
1 pkg sugar substitute
1/2 tsp of unsweetened baking cocoa
a couple of semi-sweet choclate chips
and, oh, 1/4 tsp of bannana, or vanilla, or peppermint extract.
mix it all up. S'good.

Carrots are high in potassium, which depletes sodium from your body, hence, less sodium, less dehydration and you won't often mistake hunger for thirst.

try eating cellery.they have negative calories!well, not really but thet have no calories what so ever!So your burning calories just by eating them without puttting the calories right back into your body!Try apples too, they are the same way! Good Luck!

carrots contain vitamin A,ecxesive amount of intake could hinder growth,stop menstruation,cause nausea,headaches,and jaundice.
