Make sure that all clothing is straight and that they are not lying on any creases (clothing or bed linen). If any red patches occur this signifies that pressure has been applied there. Wet your hands and cover with soap, then massage the red area with the soap. This encourages the blood to circulate in this area properly and therefore helps to prevent bed sores. I used to work in a nursing home for the elderly and we used this technique daily.
