why is 911 dispatching stressful?!

Question:

Answers:
Because people's lives are at stake and making a minor mistake can kill someone. Also, at times the resources that you have to deal with are very limited and demand can be extremely high leaving you with an enormous amount of juggling to do in order to effectively protect the people who need it.

Other Answers:
you have to deal with people screaming "BOO GOT SHOT" and people upset and you have to calm them down and get info, and you worry about things. you don't know whose up next.

You never know what the person on the other end of the phone line is going to say. Officers depend on you as their lifeline. Long hours. No real breaks or lunch period. Have to multi-task lots of tasks at once.
