Is it good to lift weights when your muscles still ache? (See details)?!

Question:
I've just worked out two days ago (Thursday) and I know it's not good to work out until two days later, which would be today, Saturday, in my case to let the muscles heal and build and what-not. But if my muscles still ache today, is it better to still lift weights today, or wait until my muscles don't ache anymore?
Answers:
If you are building muscle then yes. The muscles ache because you tore them and it's when they repair that they get bigger. If you just want to tone up then use lighter weghts and more reps

Other Answers:
Is it true pain or are they just stiff? you'd be amazed how much better they'll feel after a few warm up moves.

Tearing muscles builds scar tissue, not muscle, and can weaken the muscles. You should not be exercising to the point of acute pain. If you want to build muscle, every other day is OK, but if you overdo the pain bit, you should let the muscles rest or give them an easy workout.

if you are still sore 48 hours after your last workout it is most likely that you are not taking in enough protien(1-1.5 grams per pound of body weight should do the trick) also make sure to stretch thouroly post work out
