Add in time to exercise. Some days go to the gym, other days pop in a workout DVD and other days jog or walk around your neighborhood.

Find God!, No seriously.religion takes away boredom and enters life!! you should think about it JW.

walk backwards everywhere u go

give your life to JESUS , u will see many signs and wonders like i do , it is very fun.

Take a long walk through a park? Go to the movies (although not much good is showing at this time, better movies come out in summer and around x-mas holidays), go out to eat with friends. Exercisidng is good for the body anyway, so a quick jog around the block might be good. You might even meet some nice new neighbors along the way. Or take up bike riding. You can even get something to put the pike on so you can ride it in the house while watching TV (like a bike stand).
Watch Ferris Beuller's day off, and do what he does. Go to a parade (if any), go to a outdoor sports game, go to a museum, go to a fancy restaurant.

I agree with the first answer given. I am a new stay at home mother so I understand the need to "mix it up" a little. I started adding diet and exersize to my daily routine. I started to feel better about everything in general. I started a small collection of different styles of workouts and different trends and not only did I start to feel better but my time was filled and I started some goals to work towards. Maybe that's all you need. It works for a lot of people.

I was in that kind of situation but now I changed it up a little. In the mornings I got to a different coffee shop every once and a while and after work sometimes me and my boyfriend go out to dinner but we always choose some where new and on ocassions if you are out of work early enough go to the mall or just go do a little shopping somewhere or stop off at the video place and pick up a movie another idea is like everyone elses says go the gym or go walk around your local park another ideas is get some friend together during the middle of the week and go to happy hour or maybe go bowling for like an hour. Good luck! & Just have fun.

Make everything U do fun, put some imagination in it, try to whistle while U work and play. Keep your head up.

Ask God for help-join a group that does helpful things for people. Helping others is a great way to forget about the boredom or troubles in your own life, look around you can always find someone who is far worse off than you are.I will be praying for you Ellen.

try a new activity that you've never done before, or maybe go somewhere around where you live, walk around & explore the place, you might find something interesting :)

Hmm many things you can do:
-Take the bus instead of the car. Walk instead of taking the bus (or get out one stop earlier).
-Buy a book that really interests you (s.th. else than lawyer stuff)
-Do exercise before you get out of the house. Or go swimming before you come home.
-Buy a hamster and play with him all night. He sleeps during the day so the ideal work-people-pet (I had one!)
-wear a skirt instead of trousers or trouser instead of a skirt.
-Have someone to talk to when you get home (partner, housemate, friends) and tell each other the 'news of the office day'
-Go for a walk in the park on Sunday, that will lighten your mind.
That's all I can think of now!

me own head

It is the problem I have right now (preparing some exam). I usually gratify myself with some small things after finishing one phase of the job: lunch in my favorite restaurant, coffee break, taking a look on some good things in stores, bookshops, taking a short walk. I usually say to myself that I have to deserve those small joys, I think about that and it makes my work more pleasant. Try it :)

Ellen, I love your question. The first thing to pop into my head is lunch. Every day at lunch you have 1/2 to 1 hour to work with for free time. You could line up a lunch date, with a different person, male or female, every day. Try to couple it with a goal. Treat it like an interview to learn something.

Also, you could keep a guitar in the office and practice a little each day.

How about a quick card game with some willing co-workers?

You could go for a walk and challenge yourself to walk as far away as you can, but still have enough time to return by the bell.

At your desk, you could work on subtley doing stretching exercises so nobody notices. Every time you pick something up, try to incorporate a stretch into the move.

How about a pad by your computer? Devote one page per day. Draw a picture of whatever comes to mind.

Another challenge could be to slowly find a way to get along better with those you clash with.

Some people I know are fond of saying, "I never drive home in the same direction." In other words, they always have some event lined up for after work. A place to go.

Maybe get a part time job somewhere to immerse you in an entirely different environment?

I hope one of these ideas helps ya!

You sound like your rich, retired, a housewife with no house or kids, or all of the above. Join the club (although I'm not rich or a housewife)! Have you ever gone to the movies or read a book and almost totally forgot about everything else but the movie you were watching or the book you were reading? And have you ever ridden a rollacoaster and been totally captivated by the ride to the exclusion of almost everything else? Workaholics get so engrossed in their jobs that they almost want nothing else but to work more to satisfy their craving. You could go on and on with similar examples of our minds becoming intoxicated with some of the activities we pursue in our lives. You can choose to be caught up in life by all those mind mesmerizing activities, but time will pass you by quickly and some day you'll "wake up" almost like out of a deep sleep and think, "where have I been and what have I been doing all my life?". So my point is that it's not so bad to be bored sometimes, because it slows life down and you get to "smell the roses" a little. Then when you come to your last days, you can look back and know that you took the time to think and appreciate life occassionally and that you don't regret the activities you chose to spend your time on in life. Usually we experience a feeling of "been there and done that" more and more as we age, and we may look for new experiences in life.
