Is this a STD or something??!

Question:
there is redness, a bad odor, and itchyness on my private part.
Answers:
You should see a doctor. But it sounds like bacterial vaginosis. This in not an STD! yeast infections do not have a bad odor, and herpes has blisters. BV has many of the same symptoms of a yeast infection, except the odor. And is is treated differently. It is simple to get rid of with antibiotics. It is not contageous, contrary to what others may say. I have done research and talked to several doctors. It is simply caused by the PH balance in the vagina being too high. Its just an infection and it is very common. Also, the odor will be alot stronger during sex, this is because the PH levels in semen are much higher than in the vagina. Your condition does need treated, but it is not anything serious.

Since I am not a doctor, and I have not examined you, you need to be looked at. They can take a sample from the vagina and hold it under a microscope to see if this bacteria is present. And while the symptoms sound like BV, that doesnt mean it is. Go get looked at, but it most likely is nothing to worry about. If it is BV, and they give you antibiotics, it is not uncommon for antibiotics to cause yeast infections. If you experience symptoms after taking them, go back to the doc and get treatment for this too.

COULD BE, GO GET IT CHECKED OUT, YOU WANNA STOP IT BEFORE IT GETS WORSE.

you might have bacterial vaginitis, or yeast infection..should still go see a doctor before you buy any yeast infection products that way you are 100% what you have..because if you have a BV then yeast infection medicine doesnt help.

yes most likely it could be.or it could be infection too..GO SEE A DOCTOR ASAP!

a bad odour DOES indicate an infection but it isn't necessarily sexually-transmitted. However if you are unsure then you must see a doctor to rule it out.

It might be something as simple as thrush (candida albicans) which can come on when your body is run down and your immune system is low and it's not always sexually transmitted. See a doctor but don't assume that it IS sexually transmitted bcz it might not be. Try not to worry but get it checked out anyway.

deffinatley an std probably herpes a yeast infection is not red just itchy could be clamidia go to the doctor

I THINK YOU MAY HAVE A YEAST INFECTION, HERPES IS MORE OF A BLISTER TYPE STD. TRY USING SOME YEAST INFECTION MED. ON IT AND IF IT DONT CLEAR UP GO TO THE DOCTOR, YOU COULD HAVE ANOTHER TYPE OF INFECTION.

could be Bacterial Vaginosis. It is very similar to a yeast infection except with this you have bad Oder from down there.
I'm not sure of your gender- but girls and guys can get this
I'm not sure if it causes redness though maybe the redness is from itching and irritation.
In order to treat this YOU MUST GO TO A DOCTOR!! They can make a correct diagnosis and treat you if need be.
ALWAYS USE CONDOMS AND BIRTH CONTROL if you are sexually active! unless you are a married adult :]
Good luck!!

YOU SHOULD GO TO YOUR DOCTOR

see a doctor now

sounds like it!! if you have a wierd color discharge like green or yellow and a fishy smell!! do not walk but RUN to your gynecologist!!

Your male, so getting your vagina swabbed isnt probably for you, grin.

And yes, males can contract the same yeast or bacterial vaginitis as women do.

Then again, this may not be yeast or BV. Health isnt something you should mess around with, if you are unsure, see a doctor. Peace of mind is worth it.
