Ive been having this pain, what is it?!

Question:
today for the third time, right where your rib cage starts, higher up it hurts. when i breathe or move it hurts. i usually get this after school, or after being outside after school. it lasts about 15-20 minutes then goes away. i got it twice last week then again today, any thoughts?
Answers:
It is a muscle cramp in either you diaphram (the muscle that moves you lungs to breath) or your intercostal muscles (the muscles between you ribs that aid in breathing). Normally cramps like this are caused from dehydration or heavy lifting. Sometimes there are spasms that cause further pain. If at any time you have difficulty breathing to the point where it is really heard to breath and you get light headed, you need to go to the doctor. They will probably prescribed Robaxin or Flexeril, both being muscle relaxers. They might also put you on Albuterol for you breathing. It's a bracial dialater and will open your lungs. I hope this helps alittle!

sounds like muscle to me

cramp?.?

I've had this pain before, and I know it hurts really bad. I know it has something to do with not drinking enough water, only drinking sodas, coffee, kool aids, etc..but no water is going into your body. I started drinking lots of water, and eventually it went away. But I may be wrong, it may be another problem.

i used to get it from trying to sit up straight and not slouch until my body got used to me sitting straight i had the pain everyday

I hope you dont smoke if not it is a growing pain dont worry if it goes on for more than a week then tell your dr.
