It takes about two-three months to set it up but after you discover the rotation, you can use it to determine the sex of the child. If you're getting a child just the normal way, no. If you're using IVF, I'm not sure but they might be able to cook up something for you.
There is a way to make sure you get the sex you want for your baby. They take your husbands sperm and put it in a centrifuge and spin it around really fast. Once it's done spinning, the sperm (the x and y chromosomes) are separated. I'm not sure which chromosome comes to the top and which is at the bottom.
